Soke Tak Kubota, Founder of the International Karate Association and the Gosoku Ryu system will be teaching a self-defense seminar on fighting with the hook-top walking cane.

Soke Kubota is an world reknown karate and  law enforcement defense tactics instructor and will be teaching how to defend yourself using the common yet formidable walking cane. This is one of the few effective weapons that has no restrictions on where you can carry it including an airplane. Unobtrusive yet highly versitile, the cane can be used for strikes, thrusts, and the hook can be used for various trapping and control and restraint techniques.

Soke Kubota became famous for his cane techniques after teaching Hollywood actor James Caan how to fight using the cane in the 1970's movie, "The Killer Elite".

Here is your chance to learn effective, yet simple self-defense techniques first hand from the master.

All ages welcome. No martial arts experience necessary. Bring your own cane or walking stick. A common cane with a hook top is preferred. These can be purchased at many drug stores and all medical supply companies.
