One seminar is $25.00, both seminars is $35.00​


We are honored to have two seminars, the first seminar led by Kyoshi Ardines Santiago from Dai-Ichi Shotokan Karate-Do International explores drills of Conditioning and Fortification of Traditional Karate. 

The second seminar,  Chicago based Sensei Erick Matsunaga will explore the relationship between Japanese and Okinawan karate. Having experience in both mainland and Okinawan systems through various drills, Matsunaga Sensei will offer considerations of how a principle-based approach to training bridges the gap between them, revealing more similarities than differences.
























Santiago Ardinas

Kyoshi Santiago Ardinas, 7th Dan Shotokan. A proud native of Panama with 45 years of experience in the disciplined art of Shotokan karate. He is a respected member of the Dai Ichi Karate Do Association. Kyoshi Ardines has dedicated his life to the principles of character, self-discipline, respect and integrity; values he holds above all else.



















Erik Matsunaga

Sensei Erik Matsunaga, WMKA 4th dan, has trained in karate since 1989. In 1998, he began his journey in Okinawan karate under the direction of Art Ishii at Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu of Little Tokyo. With a combined 40 years of martial arts experience including folkstyle wrestling, Mudukkwan, Shotokan, Filipino eskrima, and Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu, in 2012 Sensei Matsunaga founded Shobu Karatedo on Chicago’s North Side.
